J300 scoot
« on: May 08, 2017, 04:16:14 PM »
Im thinking of buying a J300 scooter to commute on and also just have something in the garage to jump on and nip to places.

Anybody on here got one?
Owned over 100 bikes and still going!!

Rev it till the red bit, dump the clutch and enjoy.

A mate of mine has got one.  He got tired using his Blade for the ride into work so bought a J300.  He loves it.  His ride into work takes about the same time, he's saving a shed load of cash and his Fireblade isn't being ruined by salt and general wear and tear.  |

Theres a lot to be said for getting a scoot, any scoot, just for the commute.
I used my bikes for daily commute for over 12 years and was lucky enough to have secure off road parking at work. When that went the bike was left on the street as after our last relocation there was no bikes allowed into the conclave {echoing exhaust - standard cans}, it was bad.
Had a word with facilities who agreed scoots would be allowed in so I bought one.
Best thing I could have done and wished I'd done it years ago, the ride in traffic so much easier, cheap to run, ludicrous fuel economy, £17 road tax. a no brainer. And, as Kwacky points out, my road bike doesn't get wrecked by road salt and general winter riding in the daily commute.
Mines a PCX125 Honda, but any scoot is sensible, bigger journeys, more high speed cruising then get a bigger scoot.
Target fixation, don't look to deeply into it..

Just bought a Kawasaki J300 SE in march this year 2nd hand on a 16 plate. Takes a bit of getting use too especially putting your feet flat on the running boards. The only things I have changed is the screen and fitted a J Costa evo3 variator which has really improved the acceleration and transforms the scooter. Normally you can do approx 80 miles before the first blob on the fuel gauge goes down. Also I fitted a Givi Topbox which gives additional storage for a additional helmet when the wife jumps on the back. Best  about the bike is the seat is really comfy and it easily keeps up with traffic in town and on the motorway. Overall Im impressed for the price I paid and it looks good!
