Tall screen
« on: June 17, 2017, 02:56:58 PM »
OK ive had a look around and I don't see anyone who supplies a tall screen for a 2017 SX. Why not ? Do you know better ? If so let me know. Ta, Del

I wonder about this one?

No idea if this or Skidmarx are any  good, but I don't find that the standard screen is much good at cutting noise or deflecting rain, so I'd be interested in finding out more too.

I have the Skidmarx screen, to be honest looks a bit too big however bought it for when taking my wife as pillion to deflect more wind over us both.

Its an improvement over the standard screen no doubt as a solo rider but don't even bother if taking a pillion, the buffeting is horrendous and I am not exaggerating, we rode 1.5 miles in each direction on dual carriageway and your head is getting buffeted all over the show and make it an awful riding experience. Much worse than the standard screen

The only useful position with a pillion is screen on the lowest setting, I think there is something fundamental with the 2017 fairing design that makes lots of wind noise and a strange flow of air around the rider.

I have less wind noise on a Triumph Bobber

Well screen arrived this afternoon, so i spent 10 mins fitting it and it looks quite good. Its chucking it down with rain here so took these pics with restricted space and light. Will take a couple more when the bike is out of the garage.

That looks like it might just work - appears that it will deflect a lot more air than the standard screen. Will be very interested what you think of how it goes when you ride with it.

OK went and did 280 odd miles yesterday, and it was windy as hell so that made it difficult to say whether there was any benefit from this screen. But my initial impression is yes there is some to be gained. Im 5ft 8in so a bit of a hobbit but for £44 it has to be worth a punt.
