Time to change
« on: August 31, 2017, 02:38:28 PM »
After owning a 2011 and 2014 ZSX and covering 30k plus miles on them it is time for a change.  :431:

I loved both bikes and did Iron Butt 1,000 mile rides in 24 hours on both, multiple time. I honestly thought it was the perfect bike for me.

I honestly can't fault it, the seat was never an issue nor the 7k vibes, great motor and handling, more than enough bike for my skills.

Sport/Touring position was ideal for an "old" boy like me.

But I found I was riding it less and less, I cant really put my finger on it, but I was riding the Ex Army MT 350 a lot more, see pic.

I did the 2017 RBLR 1000 Iron butt ride on the ZSX and for some reason did not enjoy it anywhere as much as other years.

I think the truth is I'm looking for something that I don't feel I have to ride "fast" all the time (self imposed pressure) also I get fed up having to wear all the gear, leathers, full face etc, that I felt was necessary with the ZXS ( I know it should be all the gear all the time, I just don't, and yes i have had my share of crashes)  :112:

So to sum up, a brilliant bike that I thoroughly loved and it never let me down, but the need to change has been strong  :112:

New ride is a Harley, see pics   :005:  :005:  :134:  :305:  :305: Yes, a real change, just hope I dont regret it .

I wish all you well and stay safe, I will hang around for a while as I have some bits from the bike for sale. http://z1000sx.co.uk/index.php/topic,9303.0.html

:087: now that is a change. It's like you've aged and changed nationalities in one fell sweep!  :038:  :745:

I have a few friends (by few, I mean 2  :008:) who have Harley's and LOVE them, as well as the click/group they ride with, so fair play  :037:  :047: Enjoy your new ride  :028:  :031:
