Boots mod for shorter riders
« on: September 11, 2017, 06:36:17 PM »
at 5'6 I'm a bit of a short arse and he sx has always been a stretch, I've even dropped it once because of my height.  With my airhawk it's not helped either! I have to be very focused when stopping everywhere to take into account camber, road condition and loose stones.  I've thought about lowering but do t want to upset the handling.  So I needed to resolve
My sidi rain boots and after chatting to the cobbler dude, rather than removing the existing sole, he prepped it and fixed the new sole to it.  Result! The difference between tip toes and balls of feet.  Confidence has been restored, partially anyway!

Thanks, I have a pair of m stars but the toe box is just too big for the sx.  I had a 650 vstrom previously and had adjusted the gear lever to suit. The style bike suited a cumbersome gear change, but I much prefer the feel of a finer boot on the sx.  I'll see how I get on and as a last resort consider trying the m star again.  They are a brilliant boot however
