New Bike
« on: March 15, 2017, 06:59:56 PM »

I've been looking around for a few months now for a second bike to go with my Z1000SX. I use the kwak every day and for touring.

I was looking at a middle weight naked, but the latest version of the Speed Triple R caught my eye.

I popped into Triumph Birmingham a couple of times but their S3 demo was sadly stolen. While I was looking around details of the 765 Street came out, the R model tempted me but it's not available until June.

In the meantime I took a 2015 Street Triple RX out for a test ride, as I've never ridden the Street and wanted to know what it was like.

An hour later I had bought a brand new Street Triple R in white, with extras. I picked her up today.

Thrown in were a fly screen, rear seat cowl, side pods, side crash protection, tail tidy, arrow can and some other little bits and pieces all thrown in for way below the RRP of £8,200. There's about £1,300 worth of bling on there.

It's my weekend toy.  I've got a trackday coming up so I'll take it Donny to see what it can do.

Other than that not much really.  Just enjoy it.

Looking good. They're meant to be great handling bikes. Enjoy Donington  :028:

Nice! I had a 2009 STR, it was a great machine. I'd definitely consider the new one if I didn't have my sx.
