IOM : 3 weeks and counting
« on: August 16, 2017, 10:30:22 AM »
Actually 3 weeks and 2 days before we are off on a jolly to the IOM.
Catching the ferry out Friday AM and coming back Tuesday evening. 9 of us in all on this, now annual, pilgrimage.
An eclectic mix of machinery from my SX, a new Street Triple, an older Speed Triple, an S1000RR, an RSV 4 factory, a GSXR 600 {new to the group and an IOM virgin, hence forth to be known as the chalet bitch}, a 3 week old KTM Superduke GT {already run in and serviced, now there is keen}, an R1 and a KTM RC8.
Great bunch of like minded guys, off for a ride, a few coffee n cake stops, followed by a few beers.
Route up and the route back mapped out, hotel booked, ferry booked, restaurants booked. Just need to book the weather and i'm done  :002:, It wears me out doing this and every year I say it is the last one,,,,, until next year arrives.
Happy days and really looking forward to it  :028:

Sounds marvelous.

I went for the TT 3 years ago. Stayed in a house right on the course in Crosby and it was awesome. Have a great time and ride safe  :028:

Just back from a mainly camping 2 week break for the  Classic/Manx races. Loved it. Did the Mountain section in reverse direction for the first time and preferred it. Especially the view over Ramsey. I found the Classic so much more laid back than the main TT with not so many knobheads trying to emulate their hero's.
Have fun. :001:

 :002: I know, small world isn't it.

I trust you and your mates had a good time.

Judging by the smiles and laughter my group seemed to have had a great time.
Dry run up Friday and on the island, Saturday cool but mainly dry for us, the only off day was Sunday with the rain shine rain shine rain shine etc, so we ended up in the pub watching the GP,
Monday being best day of all, showers dried up by 10.00 and all day dry riding till 5.30, same on Tuesday until we got off the ferry and half way home. Riding home in that wind and rain last night wasn't fun,  still a good time had by all..

I'm glad you all enjoyed it.

Friday afternoon we did the mountain run a few times then food and beers

Saturday was a tour of the island.  We had to go to Douglas to change our ferry as the Sunday afternoon back to Liverpool was under threat of being cancelled.  Saturday afternoon we did some bike swapping.  The Versys seemed to surprise a few.

Sunday was the early ferry back to Heysham and then torrential rain home.

Still had a great weekend though.  Photos in the usual place.

Did you boys get to the Jurby Festival and the Ramsey Sprint ? I had a great time at both. Such a brilliant atmosphere. There was a young girl took her SX up the  track at least 3 times.  :047:

And I bet you did enjoy them.  :001:  I did the spectator/tourist / biker thing. But I did  have 2 weeks to enjoy all the Island had to offer.
