Red warning Light / oil symbol
« on: September 06, 2017, 01:17:27 PM »
Ok everybody - Don't know if i am going nuts or what.
R&G tail tidy fitted - nipped the cable so minor repair and blown fuse replaced ( Horn fuse  eh)
- Lesson don't work on the bike with a hangover !

So today 3 days later- nipped out on her and the red warning light remained on with no other symbols on.
Pulled over and the turned the engine off, turned the ignition on and the oil can symbol was on with the solid red light - is that normal cannot remember seeing that before, but never paid much attention to it?

Had a blast around and the red warning light came on then went off again, again with no symbol.
Its due a oil change coming up to 8k

Any Ideas would be grateful.

If the warning light is coming on and staying on its detecting an oil pressure issue, when you turn the ignition on the oil light should come on and stay on, when you fire the bike up the oil warning light SHOULD GO OUT if not you need to get it looked at.

Similar to if you have abs, turn ignition on abs light comes on and remains on till the bike starts moving, if when novi g the abs light doesn't go out it needs to be looked into.

I'm not sure if these bikes have a built in oil change reminder ( that is date based) like cars do.

Could be a faulty oil pressure sensor but could be any multitude of reasons (assume you have checked the oil level).  If there is oil, and it still comes on then you need a dealer to have a look - hopefully to resolved under warranty.
