Fuel / MPG logging.
« on: September 06, 2017, 04:26:53 PM »
Does anyone else log / monitor their mpg? I've done so for the last couple of bikes, first using an app on the phone but recently  using a Web based app "fuely"

To be honest it's quite a good website and you can view other people's mpg by searching the bikeakeodel and year (so far I'm the only 2017 z1000sx registered user)

Two SX members in the past have used Fuelly, JohnR and DougL.

However, they haven't logged in for years so looks like you'll the only one at the moment. Thats strange as usually quite a few people use it on our forums.

Did you know you can put it in your signature so it appears like this:

Let me know if you want me to add the code to your sig (it's easier than explaining it)   :028:

I do, but on a spreadsheet, simple really.

For my 2013SX over 14000 miles I averaged 47.0mpg (10.44mpl) with a best of 56.56 and a worst of 40.54mpg.

For my 2016Sx over 8400 miles so far its an average of 48.8mpg (10.74mpl) with a best of 57.3 and a worst of 42.2mpg.

Seems that higher final gear ratio may actually have an effect.  :002:

I also log my fueling and service using a spreadsheet. 49mpg is my best and 23 is my worst (track day). Having said that I think these figures are about 8% lower than I'm actually getting due to the change in rear sprocket which makes the odometer read less than actual miles travelled. Looks like it's costing around 12.5 pence per mile over the last 15k miles.
